About Me

Hi, my name is Karen Spray and I am the owner/operator of Loud and Clear Speech Therapy. I am a qualified speech language therapist with experience working in inpatient hospital and community settings. I set up Loud and Clear Speech Therapy in 2016 to provide therapy for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders with a particular focus on people with Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders.

I have a personal interest in this area as my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease over ten years ago and I have witnessed first-hand the many challenges that this disease poses for both the person with Parkinson's disease and his/her family and carers.

I am passionate about preserving quality of life and believe communication is key to this. I am a certified clinician in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment ("LSVT LOUD") and in October 2016 visited Paris, France where I completed further training and met with the founders of this treatment.

I am a member of the New Zealand Speech Language Therapists' Association.

Loud and Clear Speech Therapy is based in Auckland.
