Loud and Clear Speech Therapy works with clients who have communication and swallowing difficulties. I can offer one off assessment and advice sessions or therapy packages in the Auckland region. I am based on the North Shore but am happy to travel within the Auckland region to see clients.
Treatment involves an initial assessment and discussion of your goals followed by an agreed period of therapy. Sessions usually last 45-60 minutes but initial consults may take longer.
I am happy to see clients at home or in my therapy rooms as preferred. Get in touch to learn more about the ways in which I can help you.

Lee Silverman Voice Treatment ("LSVT LOUD")
Nearly everyone (89%) with Parkinson's disease will have problems with speech. These difficulties are likely to worsen as the disease progresses. This can have a significant impact on quality of life, affecting participation at work and socially and impacting on relationships with family and friends.
Common speech problems include soft voice, mumbled speech, monotone speech and hoarse voice.
LSVT LOUD is the "gold standard" technique for treating voice and speech disorders in Parkinson's disease. It is the only evidence-based voice and speech treatment technique for individuals with Parkinson's disease. Proven results include improved vocal loudness, improved speech intelligibility, increased facial expression and improved confidence.
I am very excited about being able to offer this treatment to people with Parkinson's disease and, for those living in the Auckland region, can even provide therapy in your own home!

LOUD for LIFE Classes
As of 2020, I am excited to be able to offer LOUD for LIFE maintenance exercise classes in the Auckland area for people who have previously completed LSVT LOUD with a speech language therapist. These classes are a fun way for people to get together and practise their speech using the principles they learnt whilst completing LSVT LOUD.

In addition to LSVT LOUD, Loud and Clear Speech Therapy provides therapy for anyone having difficulty understanding or expressing themselves verbally following stroke or brain injury. Swallowing Difficulties
A swallowing assessment by a speech language therapist can help you to eat and drink safely. Loud and Clear Speech Therapy can provide individual assessment and intervention and onward referral to other specialists as needed. In addition, we can offer training to care establishments or care agencies in dysphagia management, including advice on diet/fluid texture modification.
